My beautiful teenager... Just because I didn’t give birth to her doesn’t mean she isn’t mine. There isn’t a teenager in the world that is more amazing then she is. She is smart, beautiful, funny and talented. WOW, I’ve got no complaints, except that she lives in California and I only get to see her twice a year, but that’s not her fault.
She’s been part of my life since she was four years old. I was able to walk with her to her first day of kindergarten (her mom has been amazingly gracious to me, not all moms are as wonderful to step moms as her mom is to me). Since the very beginning we have had a special relationship, a good blend of mother and friend. She is very mature so she is able to see me parent her little brother and sister and notice the exact same things I made her do, and she just laughs… Then I stand back and watch her be a big sister and just smile, she’s great. Her typical often, (regarding her little sister) “was I like this?”
She is a high school cheerleader, and all that comes with it, meaning a very busy schedule… I’ve enjoyed watching her grow into the young adult that she is now and I can’t wait to see what is still to come. Only great things I know.
